  • Ingredient quantities listed below are for 6 servings.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb pork loin chops (bone-in or boneless, trimmed)
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour (for dredging)
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
  • 2 medium yellow onions (thinly sliced)
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 0.25 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, salt, and black pepper on a shallow plate.
  2. Dredge the pork chops in the seasoned flour, coating both sides evenly and shaking off any excess.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Brown the pork chops in batches for 2 to 3 minutes per side, adding the remaining oil as needed.
  5. Transfer the browned pork chops to the slow cooker.
  6. Add the sliced onions to the same skillet and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.
  7. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  8. Stir in the chili sauce, cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and dry mustard.
  9. Bring the sauce to a gentle boil, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  10. Pour the onion sauce evenly over the pork chops in the slow cooker.
  11. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until the pork is tender.
  12. Serve the pork chops hot with the onion sauce spooned over the top.
