Ingredients

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 tbsp basil (chopped)
  • 3 cups ziti pasta (uncooked)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pound italian sausage (removed from casing)
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
